Dodo Bird

Oh, bummer.
Dodo Birds reached an evolutionary dead end.

Dodo Birds, while now extinct, were found only on the small island of Mauritius, some 500 miles east of Madagascar.

The complete isolation of this island let the dodo birds grow and evolve without natural predators, unfortunately they were last seen in late 17th century as a result of human impact.

Some scientists doubted that the dodo had ever existed. It seemed altogether too strange a creature, and many believed it a myth. The bird was first used as an example of human-induced extinction in Penny Magazine in 1833.
